Reward guide

How to claim your Gudtrip reward

Every Gudtrip device has a built-in path to the Bitcoin welcome reward: tap or scan, open the Treasure Chest, sign in, done. This guide walks the whole flow — including what to do when the NFC tap doesn't cooperate, which is almost always the phone case.

Key takeaways

  • Tap the NFC or scan the QR on the Gudtrip product — either opens the same claim link.
  • The link opens the Bitcoin Treasure Chest, the reward claim experience.
  • An email address or phone number is all you need to create your account.
  • The Bitcoin lands in a wallet tied to that account, upfront and one time.
  • Ninety percent of failed taps are fixed by removing the phone case or finding your phone's NFC sweet spot.

Before you start: what you're claiming

Quick context so the flow makes sense. Gudtrip gives every new customer a one-time Bitcoin welcome — the same upfront amount for everyone at the same tier, yours from day one, no usage required to keep it. If that sentence raises questions, the full explanation lives in How Gudtrip works. This page is just the mechanics.

Step 1: Tap or scan the product

Every Gudtrip product carries two entry points to the same place:

Both open Gudtrip directly. Neither requires downloading anything first. Use whichever your phone likes better — the QR is the reliable fallback if the tap is being moody.

Step 2: Open the Treasure Chest

The link drops you into the Bitcoin Treasure Chest — the claim experience. This is where you see what's inside and get moved into the account flow.

We built it to feel like a normal checkout step, not a crypto onboarding. You should never feel like you need a background in wallets to get through it. If the flow ever asks you for something you don't understand, that's our bug, not your gap — tell support.

Step 3: Sign in once

Gudtrip uses your email address or phone number to connect the reward and wallet to the right account. One signup. That account is also where future check-ins and reward activity live, so use an email you'll actually keep.

After that, the Bitcoin is in your wallet. Claimed. Yours. You can close the phone and go enjoy your afternoon — there's no step four you're supposed to remember.

When the tap doesn't work

NFC is great when it works and mildly infuriating when it doesn't. The sensor is in a different spot on every phone, and cases get in the way. Work down this list:

ProblemFix
Nothing happens on tapHold the phone flat against the product for a full one to two seconds — a fast swipe often misses
iPhone won't read itThe NFC reader is at the top edge of the phone. Tap with the top, not the middle
Samsung won't read itThe reader is usually center-back. Line the middle of the phone up with the product
Pixel or foldable won't read itTry the upper back, near the camera bar
Still nothingRemove the case — thick cases, metal plates, MagSafe accessories, and card holders all block NFC
Android, still nothingCheck Settings → NFC is actually turned on (it ships off on some models)
Phone is in Battery Saver / Low Power ModeTurn it off and retry — some phones throttle the NFC radio to save power
Genuinely cursedUse the QR code. It goes to the exact same place

Pro tip: if you're in the shop and it's not reading, just screenshot or photograph the QR and scan it from your camera roll outside. The link doesn't care where you open it.

After you claim

The reward is upfront and one-time, so there's nothing to maintain — no streak, no check-in requirement, no expiry to babysit. The app will show your session history if you want it (that data is yours, for your own awareness, and never touches the reward). Otherwise, the Bitcoin just sits in your wallet doing what Bitcoin does.

Need help?

If the claim, account, or wallet flow gets stuck, hit Gudtrip support from the website or the platform. One thing that speeds everything up: contact us from the same email or phone number you used (or tried to use) for the claim, so we can see what you're seeing.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to download an app before I can claim?

No. The tap or scan opens a link in your browser and the claim happens there. The platform is where you manage things afterward.

I don't know anything about crypto. Is that a problem?

Not even slightly. The flow is email or phone number, then done. The wallet is created for you. You never touch a seed phrase or an exchange.

Can I claim later, at home, instead of in the store?

Yes. The tap or scan works wherever you are. Nothing about the claim is tied to the shop's location.

I tapped twice — did I claim twice?

No. The reward is one welcome per customer. Tapping again just takes you back to your account.

The tap opens nothing on my phone. Am I locked out?

No — use the QR code. It's printed on every product and goes to the identical claim link. NFC is the convenient path, not the only path.
